PRESS HISTORY

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alli Royce Soble.

Alli Royce, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I am an Atlanta Native. I have lived, grown up, and built my life here. I have been making art my entire life.

The desire and passion to create started very early for me.
Art was always a part of my world.

I never was a child that played with dolls. Instead, I preferred to be drawing, doodling or what not.

My love for photography began early as well… Read More

A lot went down in gay Atlanta in the ‘90s. At a time when attending Pride and being out were more acts of bravery than matters of fact, Alli Royce Soble was documenting it all with her camera. Now gay-loving Emory announces that Soble’s photos of gay life and the local arts scene in the 1990s will be part of the university's permanent collection. Read More

GA Voice 2014

You’ve most likely seen her at some of the hippest gay and gay-friendly parties and events, shooting photos of DJs and dancers in motion, bright streaks of lights capturing them in the moment. But Alli Royce Soble is also an accomplished painter and will have a solo exhibit at Ponce City Market on Saturday, May 10. Royce, 41, an Atlanta native, is also known for her pouring skills behind the bar at Virginia-Highland hot spot La Tavola, a job she’s had since 2000. She also shoots the restaurant’s food photography and portraits. Read More

Alli Royce Soble is an amazing artist and photographer that I have worked with for over 10 years. She has an eye for what is hot, but also for what’s not finding a perfect balance between the arts and commerce! I highly recommend.

TESTIMONIALS

My wife and I are proud owners of 5 pieces of Alli’s paintings, one small piece and four large pieces. Her combinations of color, texture and materials are exquisite and inventive. A good friend of ours from London who is a connoisseur collector of fine art and vintage wines was very taken with one of Alli’s pieces that we own, and he remarked on the talent required, and in evidence, for that piece. Plus, Alli is a fantastic person - generous, smart, creative. We are big fans of hers and recommend her work to everyone.
— J. WALKER SMITH, Chief Knowledge Officer, Brand & Marketing at Kantar Consulting

I have hired Alli to do promotional portraits and in-the-moment shots for my appearances and books. She is fluid, efficient and fun to work with. She’s also very flexible and listens to your needs, in the preparation and in the moment. I love working with Alli - she is an extension of my team. I highly recommend Alli.
— CHADWICK BOYD, Food & Lifestyle Expert | TV Host | Executive Brand Strategist | Speaker

Alli has been a great resource to my company. Not only did she provide a magnificent commissioned piece of lobby art for my new commercial furniture showroom, but she updated our staff photos to a new level! I highly recommend her for art or photography!
— LAURA BOONE, Co-Owner of turnerboone. Awarded Forbes Top 25 Small Companies in America

Alli Royce is a superb Abstract Expressionist Artist. I have used her work on a number of movie sets and I am quite certain I will again. She is a very talented artist willing to go the extra mile to bring all the emotion needed to the canvas.
— FRANK GALLINE, Award Winning Set Decorator + Buyer

Alli is an incredible and gifted artist in the Atlanta community. Her passion is evident in her work, and she is equally driven to give back to the community and develop the artistic talent of others. I don’t hesitate in recommending her talented photography and uniquely wonderful artwork.
— JASON SEEGER, Managing Director, Accenture Consulting

I’ve worked with Alli for both professional head shots and food styling photography. Her work is fantastic, exceeded client’s expectations! Alli is also loads of fun while also being extremely professional.
— LYNN SAATHOFF, Restaurant Development

We all have a mental list of those humans we admire. I first met Alli Royce Soble in Atlanta circa late 1990s. I was writing for a local arts publication called bluemilk magazine that also managed a gallery and performance space. When she hung her solo show, “The Red Hat Project,” in 2000, it was standing-room only...not just because her photography was thrilling, personal and fresh, but because Alli herself is a force of brute joy. I came to admire her that very night. Nearly two decades later, I’ve come to know the artist and her artwork and my admiration has only deepened. That her work was selected in 2014 by MARBL at Emory University to represent the modern history of Atlanta’s LGBT and arts communities affirms what we’ve all known about Alli’s work for years: it’s vital, it’s authentic and it’s one human reflecting the soul of a city and her people. So yes, I’d recommend Alli for anything from a collaborative art project to a blood transfusion. Man oh man, if only I could get a few drops of Sobleplasm in my system....
— JASON TESAURO, Writer | Photojournalist | Sommelier – Author of The Modern Gentleman series

Alli is more than an artist, she is an ahr-teest. She gets it. She makes people smile. Her work provokes and draws you in, it makes you think and at the same time can be casually enjoyed. It’s my type of work, and Alli is my type of professional...cool, sensible, smart, and nice. Oh, and let the record reflect that she is an amazing photographer too.
